This is a really witty, imaginative and original picture book for kids, with very elegant rhymes - kids will totally love this not least because it features dog's bottoms - ignore the silly review that says it's vulgar IT ISN'T it's just very funny and cheeky. It's like Spike Milligan for children! Buy this for your kids for Xmas, they will adore it and want it read to them over and over again.

I have heard a variation of this story in the past, but this is beautifully written. The 5 year old I read it to thought it was really funny, and he understood the level of humour and irony in the book. We all love it!

Another fantastic book from Peter Bently who is rapidly becomming our favourite children's picture book author. A hilarious picture book read for slightly older children and adults alike. Recommended.

...this book is quite one of the funniest childrens books I've had the pleasure of reading. Some, rather peculiar, reviewers appear to view a dog's bottom as inapproriate for children (we all have one, after all). However, it's written in extremely funny prose and certainly gives a humerous alternative as to why dogs usually smell each other's bottoms; maybe those reviewers who found it 'revolting' didn't actually read the book to its conclusion. I'll be buying this as a gift for friends, dog owners or otherwise.

Wow what a fabulous book! The story is great and you would never guess how it panned out in a million years. What a great idea, he certainly is the most clever author, the rhyming is superb! The illustrations make you chuckle every read...we LOVE it.
