I was looking more for older community type songs from the 1930s and older - the kind that people used to enjoy singing in the pub to the local piano player's accompaniment on a Saturday night. There were two songs of that era, they're mostly from the 1960s on - however one was Roses of Picardy used to get folks going in the Thirties - WW1 memories. However, I had the sudden brainwave of passing on the G.B. Songbook to a very young friend of mine (17) who is a guitar player and keybord man. He's thoroughly enjoying reading the music and playing all the songs (Including 'Lily the Pink' which would have gone down a storm in my village pub in 1938!)
Well, it wasn't for me, but my young friend finds it wonderful and the fingering clear and not too difficult.
So there you go. A definite hit! And not bad value for money!
