This is a must if you love Aran and Afghans. It consists of 24 Aran squares that have been designed by various people around the USA in a magazine competition and then made into a 20 square afghan and 4 cushions. The designs are original and inspiring and the winning square is amazing. The patterns are not for the faint hearted but there is a list of easy and hard squares at the front of the book. All the square patterns are shown as charts and also written out row by row. Even if you are just learning to knit it is something to inspire to and after all its just knit/purl stitches a row at time.

Am know making my 3rd version of this quilt. Some squares more enjoyable than others to knit, but I like the challenge of the harder ones. Finished items look very good, and hope they will be handed down in the family
