3.0 out of 5 stars Not brilliant 7 May 2012

As someone who enjoys reading and watching polar exploration dvd's and books, I had high hopes of this dvd but was somewhat dissappointed.
It's not very long and did little to hold your interest. Ernest Shackleton is a fascinating person and I felt a lot more could have been added to improve this product. It is not particularly entertaining and adds little to your general knowledge of Sir Ernest.

3.0 out of 5 stars An informative history of Shackleton 2 Dec 2012
Verified Purchase
Shackletons adventures in Antarctic form the backbone to British Exploration. This man's stories were the cornerstone to many a voyage, and attempt at some first or other in the regions of Antarctica throughout the years, since Shackleton himself graced the planet. This documentary is hosted by two very learned men, one who gives the impression that he must have read every conceivable book available on Shackleton, enough to pass his Doctorate, yet possibly has been anywhere near the Antarctic, and the other, a total veteran of the antarctic who fully understands the complexity, challenges and changes the Antarctic can throw, who can get into the shoes of Shackleton, and empathise with his ill fated expedition, and fully understand just how impossible situations would have been for the expedition and is able to portray this in short concise words. This is not a must to have but it reveals interesting information and is very informative.
