I was looking for a comprehensive 'snapshot' of the EU Institutions and this does the trick. I am surprised (and disappointed) by the number of editorial errors but otherwise it is an easy read and very informative.

This book is great for anyone wanting a refresher (or possibly even first-time knowledge) about the EU. It starts with a condensed history of Europe since the Second World War, and explains how Europe gradually integrated itself. Then it concisely describes the various parts of the European Union... very direct and to the point! I highly recommend it.
