Great idea .. I originally looked at this as a replacement for a book that I had that I lost.

The book is LET DOWN by

1.the poor formatting of tables (text is clipped even on the smallest font size)

2. the use of colour to distinguish between the differences in the text .... author should have considered that the majority of sales of kindle books go to kindle devices which are black and white.

Some odd behaviour in the locations in this book. I can navigate to locations 897-913 on the device but it actually ends before 968 - in otherwords the device independant sample file reads incorrectly on the kindle v3 (as well as the two formatting issues I mentioned above).

If the author could reformat the tables to work on the device and sort out the colour issue (using some symbols or abbreviations say) I would certainly buy it

I just got this book, was interested to see how Comings assembled the gospels, was glad to see his table of events that lays out each gospel's related texts, then utterly dismayed to see that the main body of the text is not laid out side by side, as is the custom of most parallel works, but rather in paragraph form, so an example at random...you have a set of verses...Mark 9:25, followed by Luke 9:42 and Matthew 17:18, then a paragraph break and Mark 9:26 and 27 (no corresponding verses in the other two gospels), then a paragraph break and then Mark 9:28 with Matthew 17:19...etc.

How odd. And this is the 7th edition, so obviously they like it this way.

I find this very limiting in it's usefulness. It is difficult for me to follow any one gospel, to follow where the breaks and rejoining is from gospel to gospel (like, for instance, when Luke does not follow Mark). There's not a reference by verse, so you couldn't even look up one verse you wanted to compare to other gospels.

I admire the work Comings has done - I'm essentially doing this same thing myself as an exploration of the gospels...I assume perhaps many folks who are in seminary do this as well...but I wanted to compare my work, as I near completion, with someone else. This, apart from the table in the opening, will not help me in my task.

And it's in KJV, which, I assume was either done for theological (the KJV is the only TRUE English version!) or for copywright reasons (or perhaps both) but obviously is not the easiest version to keep your head around.

There must be a better option out there. If not...any publishers interested in how I'll put mine together =) ?

Although - as I near my eighth decade on this curious little orb in space-time - I remain a self-described "Abrahamic Atheist & After-Life Agnostic", I nonetheless wish to commend Mr. Cummings for his work and dedication in producing this self-published and affordable "Gospels in Parallel" which I have recently downloaded into my new accessible version of Kindle Windows PC app for the blind from Amazon. It is obviously a labor of love and personal discovery that, despite our theological differences of opinion and conclusions, will remain a much appreciated work in my ever-expanding library of scientific and theological text-to-speech and audio books. So, bottom-line, I herein wish to thank Mr. Cummings very much for this wonderful reference and may he be blessed by whatever force of nature or "God", ultimately, may exist to bestow such blessings!
