If you've bought the vinyl version of the soundtrack years ago, you're in for a treat here. With loads of extra tracks and a shade under an hours playing time, this is a worthwhile purchase. Yes, a lot of the bonus tracks are variations on the famous theme tune, but hey we want to hear that ! Every track brings back memories of THAT film which I really must rewatch after so many years at the back of the cupboard.

What's the first thing thing that comes to your mind when you hear the album title? Da Da Da Duu. DAH DAH DAH... The haunting theme tune is now a popular ringtone..shows the lasting value in a time of ever changing tastes and technology. The rest of the album stands out especially Story of A Soldier.

Excellent musically, combining atmosphere with menace. Stands alone without the film. Only thing missing is the sound of gunshots.

This is one of the most memorable film soundtracks ever. Sergio Leone's direction was a breath of fresh air, and his use of music in his films was an integral part of his style and the films successes. Morricone would often write the score, then Leone would film around the music, integrating it into the film in a way not really seen before. Doing things this way added an extra depth to the film and packed a real punch.

Morricone uses a series of odd rhythms, instruments and wordless vocals to provide a musical backdrop to this new type of horse opera. It's innovative, and best of all the score can be listened to in complete isolation from the film with total enjoyment.

This release is pretty good, with several bits of music not included in the original release. These really add to the album. The sound is very good. There is a booklet with memorable pictures of Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach and Lee Van Cleef taken from the climactic showdown. All in all a decent release of the greatest film soundtrack ever.

I have been a a fan of Ennio Morricone since I was 16 years of age (a long time ago). At the time I had seen seen A Fistful Of Dollars in 1967 when it came to western Europe. having been made in 1964. I instantly loved the Anti hero idea of this unshaven, cigarillo smoking character wearing a poncho and riding a mule. But best of all like everyone else, I loved Ennio Morricone's music, which to me was lively and energetic and having left the cinema was whistling the main title tune all the way home.
Of course we had to wait a few years for 'The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. But It was well worth the wait and Morricone surpassed his success with this album. And now with the release of his remastered version we get a treat of having some bonus tracks making it even better. My own favourite tracks include Death Of A Soldier, The Trio, and Ecstasy Of Gold. Morricone went on to do even better sountracks. But if you are a keen western fan then this a 'Must Have' for any collector, so buy it now before it becomes extinct!

On time, perfect condition and most importantly, its the real deal - dont fall for the fake remakes - this was genuine with the actual tracks from the film, and at a good price. If its too cheap its for a reason.

This is the template for all Morricone's Western soundtracks.
It's impossible to to underestimate the influence of this album, it's like Highway 61 Revisted or Sargent Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band.
For atmosphere and inovation this is very difficult to beat, although another Morricone soundtrack The Mission and Vangelis Chariots Of Fire can't be ignored.
This is essential whether you collect soundtracks or not.
