“Well-written, and there is much in it of history, adventure, and suspense.” - The Writer’s Edge

An ex-CIA assassin who seeks redemption.
A beautiful archaeologist.
A treasure hoard on a remote Alaskan island.
A Korean billionaire who unleashes his ruthless killers to get what he wants.
Can a Bering Sea crab fisherman use survival skills from his past to save his friends and son?

"Prepare for a wild and wooly ride. You will encounter not only the sea’s deadliest wave, but also adventure, suspense, murder, treasure, and romance. This is the type of story where you forget to breathe. Cussler, Grisham, Clancy, and Ludlum have attracted enormous readerships to the mystery/adventure genre. I’ve read most of their books—The Golden Catch compares favorably with any of them. .. Tie yourself down ‘cause you’re in for a heck of a ride.” Jeff Tickson, Alive Communications

“Provocative and intriguing” L. Fox

“The details of history, culture, and treasure are quite interesting, and make for a fascinating backdrop to this action-adventure.” Livia Montana

“Exotic setting, fast pacing, coherent plot, and a strong protagonist.” P. Palmer

For anyone who can’t get enough of Ludlum, Cussler, or Morrell, “THE GOLDEN CATCH” is your next thrill ride!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read! 9 Sep 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I meant to write a review of this book weeks ago, but seeing the author's name pop up on the September list of Indie Authors, spurred me into action and reminded me I ought to write a glowing review..
This is one of the best books I have read all year, and I couldn't put it down, much to "the husband" and "tween's" annoyance, as I had my nose in my kindle reading this so food was rather delayed in our house!!

If you like Clive Cussler, Matthew Reilly or Daniel Silva you will like this book, it had me gripped from page one and the ending is truly exciting. so not wishing to give away any spoilers, you miss a good book like this at your peril. And I cant wait for the next book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing. 8 Oct 2011

Started quite well. but then got more unbelievable as the story progressed. Some of the actions described were simply ludicrous.

Lassoing the neck of a man peering down a shaft from the bottom, 12 foot down for one. Climbing along the tow rope between a fairly large ship and a deep sea fishing boat travelling at 18 knots for another. To say nothing about the fact that if it were possible, the tow rope would have to be extremely short and if that were the case the tow rope would either break or tear one of its attachment points off the deck. Whichever was the weakest

If they were the only examples of innadequate research they could be forgiven, but the latter half of the book is riddled with equally as ridiculous scenarios to the extent that for me it became quite hilarious.

It still surprises me that many writers don't appear to make any checks when writing about a subject that they know little about.

Overall for me it was a book with a good storyline, let down by poor knowledge of what is or is not credible, which is why, for me, it was a disappointment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not a case of Fools Gold! 16 Feb 2012

I really enjoyed this book!

There were some weaknesses in the plot like the hero not thinking, with all hist past experience, that he could be traced back to his home. Also, I couldn't believe that he would not kill the main baddy when he had the chance!

However, I like the fact that unlike most books in this genre the treasure was the first thing that was found. The book is a good adventure and was really about surviving against dreadful odds. I like the writing style and the characters were generally well drawn so a real thumbs up!

4.0 out of 5 stars Buckle your swash! 21 Sep 2013
By Ignite TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Frank Murdoch and his son find a cave full of pirated Korean treasure. They are pursued by a ruthless man and his henchmen, head of a corrupt organisation. Murdoch himself has been a ruthless assassin so it's hard to warm to him as a hero. The story is very action packed and fast moving, sometimes to the extent of stretching credibility. I enjoyed the 'thrill of the chase' aspect of the story a great deal.

However, I felt the book needed a little tidying up in terms of wording but that's easily sorted. Overall though, an exciting adventure story. If you like your swash tightly buckled, it's the book for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic read 11 Jun 2012

Usually read James Patterson, needed something to read waiting for his new book. Downloaded this after reading other reviews & possible one of my best reads of late. Fast moving, interesting, bit of romance & just enough make-believe. Struggled to put it down. Especially considering the cheap price, i would highly recommend it. Will be looking up some of his other titles.
