Review

Praise for Katharine Kerr and the Deverry novels:

‘An unusually scholarly writer of fantasy’ TELEGRAPH

‘Much as I dislike comparing anything to The Lord of the Rings, I have to admit that on this occasion it’s justified’ INTERZONE

‘Kerr is a master of her trade…She has created a world that might very well go on for ever, and this one reader sincerely hopes it does’ VECTOR

‘An extensive and complete world, whose endlessly fascinating details grow book by book’ STARLOG

Product Description

The next instalment of the bestselling fantasy series, the Deverry Cycle, long-awaited by Katharine’s many devoted fans.

The powerful dweomermaster Nevyn has been reincarnated, but young Neb knows nothing of his previous life. Orphaned following a cholera epidemic, Neb and his younger brother arrive at the desolate farm of their last living relative and soon learn that a worse plague lurks beyond the western border of Deverry.

The savage Horsekin tribes, spurred on by their new goddess, Alshandra, are raiding the villages and taking slaves as the first step in their plans to destroy the nomadic Westfolk and the Deverrian farmers both. Neb finds love and danger as he and his soulmate Branna are drawn inexorably into a war for the survival of the kingdom itself.

Although they have powerful allies in the Westfolk dweomermasters Dallandra and Salamander, they are also facing mighty enemies, enemies that they have fought before in the past lives that they no longer remember…

Intricately interweaving human and elven history over several hundred years, Katharine Kerr’s enthralling and moving tale of extraordinary characters living their many lives through exceptional times is epic fantasy on truly a grand scale.

The Gold Falcon. 6 Jan 2005
By A Customer
I know there are readers out there just as anxious as I am to read the new book from Kerr. I've been so lucky to discover that you can read parts of the work on her official internet site. So everybody, jump to it! Chapter one to six is out there!

I've high hopes for this one because at long last Nevyn and Jill is reborn together! The parts I read was exactly the Kerr I've missed for so long.

Just a tip: Read the entire series from the start.

12th Book! 16 April 2006
I've loved all the books leading up to this one and I think everyone should read this regardless of whether you are a fantasy fan or not! You'll fall in love with the characters, and find that you simply cannot put these books down!

I have read the first 11 books about 5 times each waiting for this one to come out, but everytime I read them I catch something new. I have no doubt at all that this book will be well worth the wait.

Finally! 6 Mar 2006
We've been waiting for this for five years, and I really hope this will be as good as the others...
I started reading this series when I was eleven, I am now nearing nineteen and they are still some of the best fantasy books around. I really recommend this series but don't start with this one...start at the beginning!
