A fine collection of Peter Tosh's songs is spoilt here by very poor sound quality.
It is probably a reproduction of a second third or maybe fourth generation tape. I played this immediately after a reggae collection disc (which usually suffer from that problem), but this is the one that came up sounding like it was submerged under a blanket.
Why do the major record companies treat us as idiots and issue such poor sonics on a compact disc? EMI treated us to a similarly dim Deep Purple offering some years ago.
If you like your reggae to sound up front, clean and lively (admittedly not Peter Tosh's particular forte!) then avoid this disc - or at least hear a copy first to see if a later mastering is being used. If you happy with your Peter Tosh so laid back that the band is in a sleeping bag then carry on. The music is (or rather WAS) classic.

hadnt heard any tosh solo before, but have wanted to for a while. Great album. SOngs 1,2,3,4,6 and 13 are brilliant. Will be buying more by Tosh in the future.
