3.0 out of 5 stars Not my favourite book in the series... 10 Jun 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed the first 2 books in this series but felt this one was somewhat lacking. Lois is finally about to marry her widower neighbour but the wedding reception is interrupted by a tornado. Their honeymoon plans are shelved as they try to do what they can to help the townspeople through the disaster, but I found myself wondering why Lois was being hailed as a hero and 'saving the town' when other people were doing as much or more to help. The story was a bit thinner in this book than the others and I was a bit disappointed with it after having enjoyed the first two so much, but I will still try the others in the series to see if they pick up again after the 'slump'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the 3 26 Jan 2011

I read Goodness Gracious Green yesterday when I saw it was a freebie on Kindle. I was excited to see where the 3rd book would go so I decided to purchase it. WOW! I am glad I did. This book blew the other 3 away. I was so engrossed in the story. Judy Christie did a wonderful job with this book. I'm definitely going to keep reading her work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Relevant - Will You Respond If Disaster Strikes Your Community? 4 July 2011
By Dawn Kurtz - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I am simply in awe of the serious nature of Judy Christie's third book in the Green Series. While I enjoyed Book Two, "Goodness Gracious Green", and look forward to reading the first in the series, "Gone to Green", I am in deep thought and contemplation over, "The Glory of Green". Christie has detailed every aspect of reacting to a natural disaster such as the one found in this book - a tornado. I read each page in absolute amazement at how carefully she detailed people's reactions and responses. The love of this community toward one another is typical of small town U.S.A. Wide-spread press release just this past year, 2011, reported similar disasters in several small towns of Alabama and Missouri, as well as other mideastern and coastal states. I have personally seen how people come together, not just in their surrounding areas, but all over the U.S.A. Some give of their time, others their money. This is an outstanding book from beginning to end: it includes weddings, deaths and heroism, but most of all, genuine love for the people of Green. Over and over, people put their own needs above their own. Jesus said it best, "He who is to be greatest among you, shall be servant to all." Well-written, unique story, well-scripted characters! Cudos for a job well-done, Ms. Judy Christie!

4.0 out of 5 stars Love this series! 28 Feb 2011
By Ane Mulligan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Once again, Christie draws her readers in to the town, the life, the humor, and the drama in Green. I felt like I was visiting old friends in my hometown. Warm, funny, and nostalgic, The Glory of Green is a wonderful narrative of small town America, pulling together in tragedy. A great read! Novel Journey and I give it a high recommendation.
