Sadly there is an increase in the persecution of believers of every faith. As the book title indicates, the focus here is on the persecution of Christians with examples from many different parts of the world. There is little doubt that Christians are the victims of most of the religious persecution in today's world and yet this is largely ignored in the media, and Christians themselves need to be much better informed about the suffering of fellow believers. John Allen's book not only provides the necessary information, but also analyses why there has been so little response and suggests what can be done. This book should be essential reading for Christians and for anyone who is concerned with the wider issues of human rights.
