I bought this book to learn about GRP moulding and laminating for model aircraft construction - well, yes it answered all my questions - and then some. This book is really a pocket reference for anybody who works with any type of GRP including Kevlar and carbon fibre.

It starts with a brief history lesson and then leaps into the different materials, their pros & cons, how to work with them in many ways, how to mould, laminate, repair - anything from models to full sized cars, yachts, furniture, fish ponds and more.

The text is simple but thorough and works from the lowest common denominator = total inexperience. This book is both pragmatic and theoretical. If you want technical specifications you will find that too.

If this book doesn't cover something about GRP then I probably don't need to know. I hope that recommendation works for you, too.

This book is a great example of what could be a difficult subjuect to understand, explained in a clear and practical way. Its not only a book that will advise you on the properties and history of glassfibre, but will guide you through to the use of glassfibre, techniques and useful tips. This book is great for the experienced and beginner alike. From Boats to model building it has it all!!!

I am currently restoring an old car with a glassfibre body. Knowing nothing about how to make repairs I though this book would point me in the right direction.
The book is a bit dated, first published in the 80's I think, but it will tell you everything you need to know about glassfibre. I found it very usefull indeed.
The only negative thing I would say about the book is that it it might benefit from some more 'step by step' photographs - but maybe that's just me. I prefer pictures to words!

I bought this book from a total lack of knowledge regarding fibreglass or GRP as the book calls it. But simply this is an easy to read short no nonsense book which tells you how to do it and how to do it well.

I had in mind to do some glassfibre moulding having last done some over 40 years ago. I wanted to get an update on any new techniques and new materials available and there were a few! The formulae for quantities has helped me to mix just enough resin without waste and disposal problems but diagrams were a bit rudimentary.

A very good service provided by the supplier Wordery.
Book arrived very quickly and the price was good too.

The book is very informative and very technical in places, in a text book sort of way.

When reading the content I got the feeling of reading a college course book.

Not the best but certainly not the worst book on the subject .
