I needed to add to my collection of aprons, as the teens in our house are increasingly interested in cooking and baking, and there aren't enough to go around.(Aprons, not teens). As a proud owner of The Glasgow Cookery Book, I ordered this item with a degree of nostalgia and without paying enough attention to the product description. On the plus side firstly, if you have narrow hips like me, the width is so generous the ties overlap at the back, meaning that your bottom and the backs of your legs escape kitchen stains/splahes/smears too. The colour is great too, and the neck easily adjustable. Where the apron doesn't work for me is the lack of pocket/s. I can't really fuction in the kitchen (where I spend so much time) without carrying around bits and pieces like lists, a pencil, ipod, glasses, etc.! Pockets could have been incorporated with the iconic design in some way. As well, the fabric is quite stiff, and there isn't much "give" even after a couple of washes. Again, that's my fault for not noticing the lack of cotton content in the description. If you are used to aprons with pockets, and like natural fabrics, choose another product instead. I've gone back to my ancient and thinning Sterck apron:slightly bleached and starting to fray, but still able to secure the wee essentials in big broad pockets. At least this item is hanging on the back of the door for emergencies.
