Review

THE GIRL BEHIND THE FAN continues Sarah's unique tale with great sensuality, intelligence, history and a beautifully realised Paris. By the end of it, you'll be begging for the next book - I know I am! (Life Between Pages)

If you're looking for some holiday reading, you could do a lot worse than pack a copy of THE GIRL BEHIND THE FAN . . . Torrid tale (What's On)

I truly, truly ADORED this book. It's just incredibly passionate, interesting, compelling, addictive and has a story you can really sink your teeth into and get lost in for a few hours... It was beautifully written and impossible to put down. One of my favourite reads of the year. Romantic, captivating, passionate, unputdownable. Sleek and sexy with strong storyline that will have you desperate for the next. (on THE GIRL BEHIND THE MASK Victoria Loves Books - http://victorialovesbooks.wordpress.com)

Yet again I fear I will not succeed in expressing how much I've adored this book. Often in a series of books there is a weak link, that is most certainly not the case here.

After finishing The Girl Behind The Mask I literally waited less than a second to dive straight into this one. You can read my review of the first one here.

In The Girl Behind The Fan, we of course have two different girls stories, who both are experiencing the same passion and desperation of wanting to be with their loved one so much.

For Sarah, after being shunned by Marco and still having never met him face to face she should be over what never was, but of course she isn't. In her heart she knows that what they shared was mutual. After not speaking for months Sarah finds her research bringing her back to the library of Marco Donato. Marco of course grants her permission to use the library and Sarah is ever hopeful that he will now meet her and stop denying his feelings for her. Only now Marco is denying that it was anything but friendship.

But after discovering some of Marco's secrets Sarah realises that Marco does have feelings for her but is he so determined to lie about it. Why?

As for Augustine's love story, after both her parents dying she is left alone. Found on the side of the road in the freezing cold by a Courtesan, Arlette takes pity on her and takes her on as a maid. It's in Arlette's home that she discovers how Arlette is her own woman and how as is surrounded by such wealth. She is a prostitute. Whilst Arlette is entertaining her gentlemen callers Augustine meets painter Remi.

After I had read the first book in the Hidden Women Series I could not wait to see what happens next in the series. This book is an amazing book to read, If you like Sylvia Day then you will love Stella Knightley.

Just like in the last book the book is split into two different point of view and also two different time periods. The first point of view is Augustine Levert and the time period she was in which was 1800's which follows her story about how she build herself up in the world from her poor and dreadful life. It covers many of the important parts, these were what made her who she is to that day but also how she become the smart and worked hard for the life she got.

The second point of view is set in Sarah Thomson's point of view that is in the time period that is set in the present time and going over events that have happened to her in the past year before it goes back to the present time. In the last book Sarah was researching about a 18th century woman called Luciana Giordano for her thesis but this time she is researching for a film. The subject this time being Augustine Levert, she again find herself drawn in the this interesting woman's world as she uncovers some of her life and the places that she was from.

Even though this book jumps from one point of view to the next it is clear on who's point of view your reading, reading about two different period's in time is very interesting as these both women are totally different. From their clothes, to their love life's and to their time periods but their is one thing that they have in common and that is that they both have worked very hard to get to the stages in their lives. You can tell this from read the book as it explains their pasts and also their present.

Another fantastic read. The streets of Paris come alive. The story is enthralling. You loose your self in the luxury history settings. The love story's technocrat your heart making you want to read more. And of course just the right amount of sex and naughtiness to delight. Thank you Stella for another fabulous read. Can't wait for the next one.

OMG I can't put into words how much I have enjoyed this story,I did get a bit frustrated when the story started to rehash what had happened previously in the first book, I think that was so you could read this book as a standalone, but I would not recommend any body to do that they would just miss so much of a marvellous experience.

I was in two minds as to whether to read this book as I found the first a little hard to get going. I am glad I did the now world and the past world ran side by side and worked very well. there was a lot more understanding as to what was going on. The story kept you guessing and made you reach for the next book.
