Cute illustrations and story; not a whole lot to smell

This is a cute board book, but the main feature (scratch & sniff) leaves a bit to be desired. If it had been possible, I would have given it 3.5 stars.
There are six pages with the following scents: gingerbread, gumdrop, chocolate, lemon, peppermint, and marshmallow. The smell circles are about the size of a quarter, which seems a little small, and they're only faintly outlined, making it hard for babies/toddlers to find the scent. And while the gumdrop and lemon are great, the chocolate and marshmallow don't have a very realistic smell, and I can hardly smell the peppermint.
I also would have liked there to be a least two scents per scene. For example, on the "Dad is fishing on Blueberry Juice Lake, while Mom is baking a chocolate angel food cake", the only scent is chocolate. This would have been a perfect opportunity to do both blueberry on the left page and chocolate on the right page.
Overall, this is a cute story, but it would be better with better scents - larger, stronger, and more frequent.

My toddlers love this story and want it read every night. I'm trying to shelve it with the other Christmas stories but they keep getting it back out!
