Product Description

Product Description

This is a hilarious Roddy Doyle story that reveals the magical truth of what happens to grown-ups who are mean to children, read by Tommy Tiernan. Mr Mack is a good caring man. And he's about to walk right into a fate he doesn't deserve. Last night, Mr Mack sent his children to bed without their supper for breaking a kitchen window. Later, he apologized, called the boys back down and made them their favorite dinner - but the Gigglers don't know that, and they've set Mr Mack up for the Giggler Treatment. What is the Giggler Treatment? If adults are mean to children, they get the Giggler Treatment. If they frighten a child, they get the Giggler Treatment. If they are ever rude to a child, or make them wear clothes they hate, or put fish on their plates and tell them it's chicken, or eat the last slice of pizza, they get the Giggler Treatment.

I bought this audio book for my 9 year old who has a mischievious sense of humour. He loved it instantly as did my other kids who are 12, 11 and 6yrs old. The idea that a secret army of 'gigglers' is spying on grown-ups waiting to take 'foul' revenge for unfair treatment of children is brilliantly conceived and instantly appealing to those who feel that the world is against them.

Adults too will enjoy the plot especially the inspired delivery of Tommy Tiernan which adds an adolescent hum to Doyle's original and hilarious script.

Parents listen and remember the true meaning of 'that's not fair'!!! More please from Mr Doyle and Mr Tiernan!

This has got to be one of the funniest audio books we have ever listened to! Lots of talk of poo.... most boys favourite subject(!) We had it on tape a few years ago and now have the CD, we have brought it for lots of friends and think it's great! I would recommend it for boys (and broadminded girls!)5-9 years.

This is just such a fantastic story and is read perfectly by Tommy Tiernan. My 3 kids (now 12,10 and 8) still love it. They frequently quote it- trying to get the Irish accent...Rover, the talking computer literate dog, the sea gull who hates fish...fish...!
Seriously it is fantastic- and would make a great present for any wee boy or girl- BUY IT !
