When I first ordered this Album, I did not know what to expect,I thought Christmas songs yes ok,
But when I received it I was blown away by this beautiful voice , Make me a Channel of your Peace , is my favourite so far,so soothing,Perfect day it makes you think back to a day in your own life that was perfect,I loved the duet ,Do You Hear What I Hear, Amber Stassi has a lovely voice ,I understand she was the winner of Susans Search,competition,Oh Holy Night is so beautiful.
I have just picked out a few but the whole Album is superb,Susans voice is one of the best I have heard in a long time.

When I hear Susan sing, I am blown away by the beauty and purity of her voice. It's like when you "ping" a crystal vase or bowl or glass. You hear a beautiful, pure sound. You can also hear every word Susan sings.
The Gift is an odd mixture of pop classics and hymns and carols, but it works. Susan loves to sing and you can hear that in her voice and the feeling that she brings to each song. The Gift brings me peace and calm.
There is a lot of jealousy out there because of Susan's perceived overnight success.It wasn't overnight. Susan has been singing for years in clubs and going to auditions and she deserves her success. There's plenty of room for everyone.

Susan Boyle has a beautiful voice and she seems to be a nice woman. Even if it's a christmas album it's lovely to hear even if it is spring. This cd I bought for my mom as a christmas gift and she loves it. She has already Susan's first album that we bought in London last year. I recommend it very much, buy it as a gift or to yourself.

This second album from Susan Boyle has been criticised by some as not being as good as the first album. This is unfair since both albums are separate projects and should be praised for its own individuality.
It is clear that spiritual matters are an important part of Susan's life and this album is a very personal statement of that fact. The whole album is a spiritual journey and the choice of songs is very clever.
The Christmas period is of course a spiritual time of year and Christmas is incorporated into the song choice. It is not exclusively a Christmas album but its understandable why there is so many Christmas songs on the album.
The performance by Susan is excellent and the whole album has a very strong atmosphere. The whole project is ideal for her wonderful voice and the album has class.

INTRODUCTION
This second album of Susan Boyle is aptly named "The Gift" because it is a Christmas gift to her fans in this holiday season. It was produced by Steve Mac, the award winning British record producer, songwriter, and owner of Rokstone Studio in London, for the Syco/Columbia label. It consists of well-known Christmas classics, a Christian hymn, a Scottish folk song, and time-proven iconic pop rocks, re-arranged to fit Susan Boyle's vocal range and artistic style.
THE CHRISTMAS CLASSICS
Susan Boyle brings forth the holiday spirit in her heart warming renditions of traditional Christmas classics, which include "The First Noel", "O Holy Night", "Away in a Manger", and "O Come All Ye Faithful". These are Christmas songs most people grew up with and beloved by Christians and non-Christians alike. The most interesting piece, however, is "Do You Hear What I Hear". It is a duet with Amber Stassi, a 33 year-old paramedic and a mother of three from Brewerton, New York. She was the winner of "Susan's Search"--a YouTube video contest launched on July 14, 2010 for a duet partner in this upcoming second album. The song was composed and written in 1962 by the then wife-and-husband team, Gloria Shayne and Noël Regney, and made famous by Bing Cosby in his 1963 Christmas album. Amber Stasis has a full and mellow voice. I wish I could hear more of her.
