My son (aged 6) has recently been diagnosed as being severely dyslexic and I am reading all I can to try and understand the subject. This book is absolutely amazing!!! It provides such a lot of information about what what dyslexia is and how it affects a person. For the first time I feel as though I understand what is going on in my little boy's mind and can start to understand his reactions to situations. Some of what I am reading brings me close to tears and yet a part of me rejoices that his young mind has such capabilities as well. As I read more, past events click into place and I can see why he did that, or said that, or knew that. I'm no expert but I have read several books on dyslexia in the past year or so, and this one is by far the best I have read. It provides information, advice, words of caution, and also spadefuls of hope. If you were just going to read one book on the subject, buy this one! Once I started reading it, I could not put it down, and I know I will read it again and again.
