I was torn between giving this book 4 or 5 stars. I opted for 5 stars because I feel the book provides the information the author promises, without resorting to the stirring (but perhaps empty) emotionalism and / or overly spiritual or 'spooky' language that many other self-help books in this domain resort to. However, it's written in such a simple, down-to-earth style that if you're not careful, you can almost miss the huge implications to your life of applying the techniques outlined here. So, I wouldn't mind if the book were a bit more 'stirring' in that respect, only if to give you more of a sense of respect for the subject!
My personal stylistic preferences aside, though, I decided to award this book 5 stars because it really is so comprehensive in scope. If you just wanted to get one book that clearly and simply outlines the subject of the subconscious mind and it's practical applications to everyday life, then this really could be your book. I'm currently doing a lot of reading on this subject but feel that in The Genie Within, I've truly found a reference book that can quickly give me an overview of the various aspects of speaking and listening to my subconscious. The book is also full of practical exercises - so there's no excuse not to start making progress straight away.
