As an individual on a Gap Yah, and having seen the youtube videos, I felt inclined to give this a read. I was not at all disappointed; not only is the book continually witty and true to Lacey's satirical humour, but it is also oddly informative and interesting at the same time. Alongside the underlying playful jibe at a certain social group in this book is very engaging round the world journey. Among my favourite parts are his notion that "Australia basically has loads of random animals that will kill you", the top trumps at the end, and his genuinely hilarious comments on most things which generally include "banter", "LAD", and the letters "aaaaaaaaah".
Thoroughly recommended as a very uplifting and readable book, probably the best humour novel I have read in a long time. Worth the money.

Was given this book today....it is very very funny. The joy of the book is that it can be read in stages as the book is separated into the different countries Orlando visits. Well worth a read if this is your kind of puerile humour

I have seen the Unexpected Items, Orlando's group of friends who perform comedy, a number of times and it is on this basis that I bought the Plannah, which has turned out to be highly amusing (like Orlando). (And the Items). Excellent stuff!

I love the Gap Yah video and bought this for my younger brother who's in sixth form. I wasn't sure the humour would translate to a whole book but it's totally brilliant! Each joke is better than the next - but watch out some bits are a bit rude! it's a hilarious faux-guidebook covering lots of countries and just shows up how embarrassing posh Brits abroad can really be! Not sure quite how useful it will be to my brother but it will give him lots of new comedy material! this makes a very good gift I think. Totes hilaire.

My younger brother is just embarking on his 'Gap Yah'- working a bit before he goes off anywhere. So I thought this would be a funny present for his recent birthday and he seemed pleased with it. I have to say I've had a flick though and found myself laughing out loud on several occasions. Very stereotypical and observant and for anyone who's been to uni the well worn phrase of some people "so, on my gap yah..." will ring very true!

This was absolutely brilliant. So funny, but also not just a throwaway toilet book - it's really well written, and actually has a good story to it. If you liked the youtube video you'll love it, and even if you didn't, or have never seen it, you will still genuinely thoroughly enjoy it.

I rarely have time to read a book, but I was more than happy to make an exception for the Gap Yah Plannah. If you liked the youtube videos then you will LOVE this!

For anyone who thinks this book is ridiculous, yet it is! But there lies the beauty in it. Don't read it if you want something mentally stimulating, DO read it if you want to spend the entire reading experience laughing out loud.

Word of warning: don't read it in public places, your continued laughter will make you look mental.
