This book is truly incredible. Jon Gabriel lost nearly half his body weight because he realised that as long as his body wanted to be fat, NOTHING was going to make him slim...he found out he was starving...in SO many ways. ME TOO! In the 50+ years of my fat journey I have never read anything so comprehensive, so different, and which made so much sense. Jon moved from New York to Australia to follow his heart and in so doing completely transformed his body and his life. He tells you what to ADD to make your body want to be slim. There is a free visualisation CD, an internet support forum, a radio show which will change to videos in the New Year. Fat people like me have been SO cruelly exploited by diet books, diet doctors, diet foods...the more I spent the fatter I got. NO MORE. Once you have read this book you will know what it is like to be truly understood and supported. Jon's hand is on his heart not in your pocket...

Before I bought this book I was totally at my wits end. I feel like I've tried every diet and all this has done is make me my fattest ever. This book is a revelation, it's written by a man who's been there and struggled with his weight, getting fatter & fatter with every attempt. This is a holistic approach - it's a mind & body approach. I feel so much better, more energy and happy. I am not thinking about food 24/7, I have not jumped on the scales and my clothes are loser. I think what has really helped me is this is about adding things to your diet and there's no feelings of deprivation at all. I've tried McKenna & I've even had a private session with Marisa Peer which had an effect for a couple of weeks. When you have the book you can get a free download to use every night when you go to bed. Unlike Mckenna & Peer, who's visualisations are long and irritating this is only about 20 mins long and Jon's voice is nice to listen to. His website has some excellent free resources, videos, recipes etc. I do not feel on a diet, therefore I am not 'on' or 'off' it. If you are ready to stop listening to the BS in diet books and really tackle your weight, then I would definitely recommended this book and Jon's website.

This is a very interesting book as it pulls together a lot of establised knowledge and new research published in isolation, that I have read elsewhere over the years, alongside his sensible and simpy put recommendations and instructions. It combines plain nutritional and physiological facts with the hormonal and chemical interactions within the body to explain the difference whys and wherefores people gain weight, lose it, put it back on and how to stop the depressing cycle.

I bought copies for others as gifts, along with the recommended vitamins and minerals suggested.

The book is great and you can get the audio for free online once you have the book. It focuses really on re-programming your relationship with your body and with food using hypnosis techniques so you change your eating habits effortlessly and with joy! Really good!

At last someone who understands that losing weight the old way is tougher than what people think, an honest look taking you away from dieting and how many calories you are eating and helping you get to the root cause, through meditation and visualization of why your body is wanting to hold onto weight. Now I have only been using the Gabriel Method for just over a week, but already my body is becoming leaner but most importantly I feel amazing and not craving any foods at all!!

Probably the best purchase I have ever made in my life :))

I read lots of reviews about this book before buying it, but I noticed a distinct lack of people commenting on how much weight they had lost using it. I know that this book is about much more than weight loss, but I presume most people looking to buy it are doing so because they have some weight to lose.
So I'll try and comment on all aspects.... I am a 36 yr old female with about 3 stone to lose. I have struggled with losing weight for about 12 years; either doing a fad diet to lose weight (and then putting most of it back on), or just not being able to lose it at all.
I have now used the book/ CD for one month and have lost 7 pounds. Not the largest weight loss ever, but noticeable, and people have commentated on me looking lots slimmer. The most amazing thing though is how it has changed my life about food, and its hold over me. It is the easiest 7 pounds I have ever lost, and I will never go back. I haven't once worried about food portions/ calories or cravings. The CD had an effect on me after less than a week of listening to it before I go to sleep.
I am enjoying food, and eating far more healthy foods- by choice. I have eaten bread about 3 times in the last month - again by choice. I have eaten some chocolate or cake - but a few bites are enough and then I stop. I don't remember the last time that has happened to me. Food has lost its emotional hold over me for the first time in many years - the relief and freedom from that has changed my life.
The Jon Gabriel method only asks you to do two things - listen to his CD (which is free to download once you buy the book) and to ADD nutritional food to your day, every day. It is NOT a diet, and you can eat anything that your body/ mind wants you to eat.
