Product Description

When the body of a child murdered more than thirty years ago is discovered in the Warwickshire countryside, it reveals hidden secrets from the past which impact upon the futures of so many people.

A former police detective and an ex-gangster each have their own motivation for trying to find who was and, more importantly, who wasn't responsible for the murder but for DCI Danny Isham, the quest for the truth becomes far more personal than he could ever have imagined.

In his search for answers, Isham will discover not only what really happened to the child victims all those years ago, but also that his own life is part of the riddle; a riddle which would destroy his past and alter his future for ever...

Really enjoyable! 14 May 2011
By Mags
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved this book. Crime/thriller fiction is one of my favourite genres, and this was definitely an exciting read. The characters were believable; all (with a couple of exceptions) were a mixture of likeable and not so likeable, which made them very true to life. There were some interesting moral questions raised, and some truly cunning twists. I enjoyed the relationships that developed, and was intrigued by the way that various plot strands were tied up. The author took care to present resolutions which made the story more interesting, and avoided cliché. All in all, I would highly recommend this as an enjoyable way of spending a few hours, and would be delighted to read any further offerings from Adam D. Williams.

Thrilling first novel 14 Mar 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I found this to be a compelling and exciting read. Cleverly written, throwing you from past to present, this book finds you agonizing over having to put it down.

I would recommend to any avid reader as it compliments most writing genres.

Waiting in anticipation of "Best Served Cold".

I really enjoyed this book. I don't normally read this type of book but i could not put it down. it is set around the solihull/ Birmingham area which is an area i am familiar with, and this drew me in to the book, as i could picture the area talked about.

the book is well written and has some really unexpected twists towards the end.

would definitely buy soemthing else by this author if he writes anothe book.

Didn't thrill me
This book began okay but, for me, the plot went badly astray (and "off-the-wall") about the midway mark. Read more

Enjoyable read
An well written interesting story which I enjoyed. I found some of the plot required quite a stretch of the imagination and the final twist was a bit too ridiculous for my taste. Read more
