Rare pictures, great text, unique perspective

This book is a delight, and is beautifully printed and bound, unlike many design books these days.
It is rich in images, rare ones, and includes a perspective informed by the vast historic Eames holdings in the Vitra Museum.
Highly recommended to all design lovers and all Eames fans.
The authors of this book had access to REAL EAMES PROTOTYPES.

From what I understand, this is a book Vitra compiled and actually uses as a sales tool.
A lot has been written about the Charles and Ray Eames, and I've read a handful of it... if you're looking for notes on their personal life and legacy, you might be better served by watching the film The Architect and The Painter, but if you're looking for a gorgeous, hardback book with lots of glossy photos and insight into specifics about the Vitra/Eames relationship, as well as a wonderful timeline of piece production, this is it.
Definitely my most well-crafted, designed and executed book about the Eameses, although some others are a bit more in-depth.
