3.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps I should have taken a break 14 July 2012
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed Frey so much I bought Pieces of Eight (the second book) and just carried on reading. I was hoping the character development would continue and drive the storyline. It may be me, but, I found the second book frustrating in its sloth. I wanted it to move on and I feel the whole second book story could have been dealt with in a chapter or two. Perhaps; as I said in my title, it was me expecting too much. The writing however is excellent, making me continue with the read, but, towards the end, in the hope the story would pep up a bit. I am contemplating buying Molly and I will consider the third in the series.

3.0 out of 5 stars it was okay 22 Jun. 2012
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
i really enjoyed the frey so when i discovered there was a second book i didnt hesitate. but having just finished it i cant help feeling slightly annoyed it took until the last page for freya to stop being so frustratingly weak and pathetically wimpy. not sure if i will buy book three. the writing was good and plot wasnt bad but freya just annoyed me in all honesty and ruby seemed to be the only character described well enough to give her emotions and responses a familiar predictability.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for Book 3!!! 12 Jun. 2012
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I so enjoyed the first book of this series, I downloaded this one straight away on my Kindle and carried on reading! I read traveling to work, lunchtime, traveling home and in the evening - couldn't put it down! It's a good combination of love story and drama. The twists and turns style from the first book carry on into this one and you just have to keep reading to find out what's going to happen next.
The only disappointment is book 3 is not due out until later this year - although I have just downloaded "Molly" which sits between this and book 3. So glad I took a chance on the first book and now need to see what else Melissa Wright has written.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good fun fast read 3 Feb. 2013

When I started this series of books I had no idea what this was going to be like. I'm not usually into fantasy, I generally prefer supernatural horror. However I'm just starting book three & I only picked up book one three days ago!
I've really enjoyed the wonderfully colorful characters with their incredible powers. The story moved seamlessly from one book to another.
I've really enjoyed these fast reading gems & look forward to finding out about the rest of their story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh.. My.. Gosh! 16 July 2012
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is AMAZING! I love the ending soooo much! The worst thing is that it ended! I know I'll definatly be buying the third as soon as it comes out. Some bits of the book made me giggle, some gasp! But I couldn't think of a better ending of twist. Fabulous! Love it! xD

    2.0 out of 5 stars Disapointing 25 April 2015
    By Gillian
    Format:Kindle Edition
Considering this is the second book in the series it was very disappointing as the setting and situations are exactly the same as the first book there is no progression of the story or the characters .. I didn't even bother to finish the book.
