It was a surprising and and enjoyable book all the way through. Simply written with no fluff in an easy language it was clear that the author knew the Mumbai area clearly. Without becoming overly emotional and overly explaining every move Mira Nair takes us though the journey of 4 gutsy women who have everything to gain and nothing to lose. It also shows to women that if they have guts they can achieve many things even when they have very little at the start. In some ways the book is inspiring in its own way without trying overtly to do so. Will recommend it to any one who travels on planes or a weekend reading. enjoyed it very much.

Although I enjoyed reading this book, I was very disappointed with the ending. This author did a really great job of character development, but at the end, the fate of the characters came to an abrupt end.
