Product Description

A novel from the screenwriter of the Godfather trilogy

Book Description

A new Kennedy has been elected president. A man who has inherited all the good looks, wealth, and youthful idealism of his famous uncles. He is Francis Xavier Kennedy -- and suddenly the old dream of Camelot once again seems possible. But the energetic new president is also haunted by the darker side of the Kennedy legacy -- a legacy of tragedy even the best intentions may be powerless to avert. Now the horrifying assassination of a great world leader and kidnapping of the president's daughter by terrorists have launched President Kennedy on a desperate course that could end in disaster -- unless he is stopped.

USA USA USA! A OK! 2 Oct 2000
Format:Paperback
Fair play to Mario Puzo, he is a writer of legendary status. With this book he explains the backstabbing way in which the Government in USA are run. The SOCRATES club are the true powermongers, throw in a idealistic and very clever man by the name of President Kennedy and you will then find out what exactly Bill Clinton must have been thinking when his time in office was nearly up. A great book, explaining the tooing and froing of seperatists, terrorists and multi-billionaires, one for the persons out there who like a little heavy reading, Viva la Mario Puzo, a Hero!

By Spider Monkey HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
This book has a great premise and looks at the powerplay of Washington and the rich in the US, sadly the ending let the book down. You are kept engaged and turning the pages throughout this book, but the ending leaves a little to be desired and the way certain characters behave is out of character, so to speak. Puzo gets a little lost for fifty or so pages in the middle as well. The problem is that being so spoilt with the Godfather and other mafia related books, you expect such a high standard from puzo, that this book lets you down slightly. Saying that, this is a good political thriller and a good couple of days reading.

I love Mario Puzo

this one was not as good as many of his other books and its a very different book from what he usually writes. When i first read the first few chapters i almost gave up on it but im very glad i did not and thoroughly enjoyed the book once it got started.

Im only sad because i have now read every single one of his books and so cant get the joy a reading one of his books for the first time again.
