I purchased this DVD from Amazon a few weeks ago and I'm very glad I did. I am 63 yrs old, in fairly good health and retired. Apart from the usual daily household chores and gardening I do no real exercise. Performing the five rites revealed the lesser used parts of my body that have become content to retire! I thought 'oh boy' I'm not going to be able to do these. I couldn't even do the fourth exercise initially, sobbing at my inability:-( A positive attitude helps along with performing each rite slowly and building up the repetitions slowly. I started on one, then three and then five until I'm currently at seven repetitions. It gives a great sense of achievement. This DVD informs the viewer how the rites influence the body and the correct way to breathe. I believe that seeing how the rites are performed is much more beneficial than reading about them, as is often said 'a picture says 1000 words'. I watched online a short video clip about the Five Tibetans that demonstrates the moves, which are almost identical to those in this DVD but that also explains how information in some of the books on this subject may divert considerably from the authentic teachings of the Tibetan rites. The lady demonstrating in the video clip is Ellen Wood, who I hadn't heard of until today but for me furthers my belief in this DVD. To get the exercises right it is often necessary to replay the DVD several times as it is easy to forget certain bits of moves, or is that just my age!!! Since breaking my ankle in 2004 kneeling to sit on my heels has been too painful. Sitting on the heels following the third exercise is done in this DVD and I'm now regaining the ability to do this. As a pensioner I find this DVD an inexpensive way to learn how to follow these rites which hopefully will lead to a healthier body and mind. It will probably take me several months to achieve the ideal of 21 repetitions but I feel better in myself already. It is now January 2011 and I reached the 21 repetitions of each Rite by Christmas 2010. I do rest for a few moments halfway through Rite 5 to steady my breathing but I hope eventually to be able to work through it without the need to rest. I now have firm muscles in my upper arms and a pain that had been attributed to sciatica has not troubled me since doing these exercises.

fountain of youth 17 Aug 2010
I was really looking forward to having a go with this DVD, 15mins of exercise each day making you feel younger and healthier. The exercises seemed rather tame while watching at the begining, but as you attempt them ...not as easy as you think! I have not done any exercise for a long time so to be fair it is my fault. It is a lovely way to start the day, very gentle and relaxing. I do think it would be best to do a warm-up before you start, as with all exercise. Overall I think it is a good DVD.

Keep it accurate! 1 Oct 2011
This DVD contains a lot of information that isn't correct (some of which has been mentioned in other reviews) - starting with the completely inappropriate picture on the cover - this is a yoga pose and has nothing to do with the Tibetan Five Rites. They have also replaced the Tibetan five-chakra system with the more common seven-chakra system, even though the Peter Kelder book (The Eye of Revelation/Fountain of Youth) only mentions the five chakras which are located in completely different places from the seven. (The DVD talks about the solar plexus and some of the other seven chakras, but these aren't mentioned at all in the Peter Kelder book.) The DVD also gives completely incorrect information regarding the benefits of each rite, and leaves out a huge amount about the actual benefits, which it's important to know. In the DVD it also mentions breathing out through the mouth to relax - you should never breathe in or out through the mouth (see Buteyko Breathing for more info). In Rite No 1 they incorrectly have the left palm facing upwards (both should face downwards) and it's nonsense to turn anti-clockwise because you're in the southern hemisphere - turning anti-clockwise can actually be damaging! (See Carolinda Witt's T5T book.) In Rite No 2 the hands should not be placed under the buttocks and the sacrum should remain on the floor/ground when lifting the legs. You should breathe out (not in) when lifting the legs otherwise you will constrict lung capacity. In Rite Nos 3, 4 and 5, the head shouldn't be dropped back so far as this can strain the neck and constrict the blood vessels. In Peter Kelder's book, it says for Rite No 3 you should "lean forward as far as possible, bending at the waist" - this isn't demonstrated in the DVD. The 1946 version of Peter Kelder's book (edited by J W Watt) says you should rest between each repetition of a rite, but not rest between rites. Otherwise, the Rites are demonstrated fairly well (apart from No 1) - certainly better than many of the U-tube videos which are way off.
