5.0 out of 5 stars The Forthright Saga 11 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I loved this book, the characters were very funny. They were down to earth 'real' people and I could identify with their actions. Meriel and her malapropisms had me in stitches. I have read non fiction by this author and enjoyed sharing her in depth knowledge of Fell ponies, their habitat and their breeders. This is the first of the author's fiction works I have read and will read more in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rib tickling 9 Mar 2013
By Carol W
Format:Paperback
This is a highly amusing book to read, especially when you did cheering up. The characters are down to earth and believable, often with the most imaginative names. A good and well written story, this is an easy, light and delightful book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Free this weekend for trial run 15 Sep 2012
By K. Conklin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
2.5 Stars, Please. Yes, there is some humor here, but not my kind and not enough to take me to the end. I did give up at 60% completion since I could not understand where the author was taking me. I wanted to like it. If you are a quirky Brit, give it a try while you can nab the book this weekend without cost. If you think it might be funny that a young wife in the village mixes up her words, e.g. "orgasmic" rather than "organic" - this is your kind of book. She did succeed in creating a couple of interesting characters, or I would have deleted the book immediately.
