Product Description

FROM THE WASTELAND COMES A WARRIOR...

Three years have passed since war destroyed the world. Civilization has fallen into anarchy and tribalism. In the hattered remains of the Southern United States, an old evil has returned and taken power. Led by the vile Reverend Josiah Phelps, a new Confederacy is built on the rubble of the American Republic.

Michael, a lone warrior returning from the ruins of the front line, finds his wife murdered and his daughter kidnapped by the Reverend & his followers. He sets out to find his daughter and take vengeance on the men who killed his wife.

This film is ruined by the sound. Usually I enjoy dubbed international films, but this isn't one of them. This bad sound is on a whole new (much lower) level.

The voices sound as though they've been added later or messed around with in the studio, especially as sometimes the characters mutter things without any sound coming out!

Except for a few dodgy-sounding footsteps, the vast majority of the background sounds have been purposefully removed (they mention in the film that everything went silent), but too much is removed so it just comes across as arty/unrealistic so it's unnatural to watch and has made the poor voices sound even more noticeably odd.

Don't be fooled by Amazon's trailer; if you can call it that. I watched the trailer first and it definitely does not capture the poor sound quality as the actress it features has the most realistic voice out of the lot of them so she doesn't sound half as bad as all the others.

If you can somehow get past the sound, the set, costume and acting are alright. The storyline isn't too bad and it's got a British film style to it if you like that kind of thing. Don't watch it on a "movie night" but maybe, MAYBE give it a go if you're feeling like a film studies student and want to "study" it rather than watch/enjoy it.
