An excellent read! 7 Sep 2003
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This is a really good book, definitely buy it! A perfect re-telling of the Robin Hood legend, this story concentrates on the women behind the stories, not the men. You really get to know the characters, really begin to feel for them, ther are so many characters, yet all of them appeal to you. Throughout the books, you recognise many of the familiar characters, which have been given a new identity for these books. For example, you recognise John as being Little John, Brother James as Friar Tuck, and many other characters from the legends. Definitely buy this book now!

An excellent read 26 July 2004
Format:Paperback
There have been quite a few books in recent years focusing on Maid Marian. Theresa Tomlinson's portrayal is easily the best of them. She finds a new dynamic role for Marian that makes her more than a self-doubting romance novel heroine or simply a generic Merry Man. Her Marian is an interesting parallel to Robin Hood.

Marian and her friends (and family) make excellent role models for girls... and boys.

And don't let the young adult status prevent grown-ups from reading this book. It's better written than most "adult" Robin Hood books.

I would seriously urge you to buy and read this book! It is absolutely fantastic, I could not put it down!
In a retelling of the awesome Robin Hood Story, 15-year-old Mary de Holt runs away from a fearsome arranged marriage, and soon becomes Marian, the wise and magical beautiful Green Lady of the Woods. With the help of her old wet-nurse, Agnes she flees deep into the dangerous Barnsdale Forests, where she encounters enemies, makes new friends, rescue forest-folk and ensure the safety and well-being of all those who dwell in the forests of Sherwood and Barnsdale, Nottingham.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT... MY FAVOURITE BOOK... DON'T MISS THIS!!
