I bought this book because I have been to Russia and know that the cuisine is so much more than blini and borsch. It is a well layed out, nicely planned cookery book, with lovely photos of the various steps and overall dish.
The recipes are titled in the English translation and the Russian (in phonetic English), with a blurb about the provenence of the recipe, and maybe a serving suggestion. There are different sections, as you would expect from an all-round cookery book. Although given the extravegance and prolific number of cakes, gateux and other baked goods in Russia, I am slightly dissapointed in the dessert section.
Have the peljmeni (little beef dumplings) with a dollop of mayonaise, just like the Russians do!
