This collection is one of those few books that I will want to keep in my children's library forever. Similiar to the Beatrix Potter collection (Frederick Warne Publisher in fact) but dare I say much better!

The small hardback books are fun and educational, bringing together an appreciation for poetry and for the amazing diversity of British flora. The author wraps it all up wonderfully in the magic of the fairies with the loveliest drawings.

These books have become my six year old's favourite bedtime stories and I genuinely look forward to reading them myself.

Presented in a pretty and sturdy small box complete with a ribbon bow closure, this will make a fabolous present.

I really think that every little girl (and lady!) with a poetic heart should have these books.

I first knew the Flower Fairies books in the early fifties and bought them all with my pocket money. Later on I passed them on to younger cousins and nieces. Now I have only the Autumn book left and was temped to buy the eight volume edition. I was disappointed to see how the pictures had been "improved" with harsh black contours, cropped edges and flash colours making an elderberry look like a glass christmas tree decoration. And one also feels slightly cheated by having to buy eight books instead of seven when the contents are identical. But for those who have never seen the real thing the new books will be all right.

I bought these delightful books for one of my grandaughters in the hope that she will grow to love them as much as I do The illustrations seem botanically accurate and yet are so imaginative and creative. The books should surely be considered as children's classics. My own well worn copies dated from the 1950's and were replaced as a gift when I retired. So you see they have never lost their magic for me.

I loved these books as a child myself and hope that my Granddaughter will gain as much pleasure from the delightful illustrations and as much botanical knowledge as I did from them
