Though a little dated now in terms of modern kite design most especially in respect of water launchable and variable power kites it does give the reader a very good introduction into the world of kite flying. It covers the history of Flexifoil designs going back to the early 70's up to quite recent times. If you are new to kite flying or just considering it and want to know what it involves and how much fun it can be, then this is the book for you. It covers in quite some detail flying techniques and most importantly, launch techniques and safety aspects, with photo's, diagrams and well written descriptions. The book covers two line and four line kites for use on land sea and snow, whether you are just stood flying, being dragged around (scudding) or on wheels (mountain board or buggy). Flexifoil have published an updated version of this book now but this is a very good buy now. The book is a quality production and the photography contained is of a fairly good production quality though some of it is over 30 years, old covering the earliest steps taken by Flexifoil. Recommended, read this and you'll want to have a go yourself!.
