Product Description

Product Description

New research has exposed our leadership paradigm as a outdated mess of flawed models and practices. By working with great leaders and observing their common attitudes and behaviours, Richard Hames has cracked a universal code based on intelligence, appreciation and collaboration. This code unlocks Five Literacies of Global Leadership.

These behaviours are the trade secrets of the artists and alchemists among us. Often instinctively, these leaders charge others with energy, search for new perspectives and embrace diversity. And they are driven by dialogue. This book reveals approaches and attitudes that they all share – and that can make anyone an exceptional leader.

A Real Tonic 1 Oct 2007
Format:Hardcover
In this absorbing book Richard Hames tackles issues vital to the development of global leadership practice. Richard provokes us to question our assumptions about the way the world is organized, and opens the window to a possible future in which leaders operate from a more holistic, agile and generative set of principles.

The optimistic tone of this book is a real tonic in a world jaded by the sheer weight of received wisdom and outdated paradigms that are hustling the planet towards it's own destruction. Anyone interested in sustainable, intellectually stimulating leadership practice will find this book an indespensable resource.

Corporate philosophy for thought leaders 1 Oct 2007
By Mike McAllum - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
The 'Five Literacies of Global leadership' is both profound and practical as a companion guide for leaders interested in navigating their organizations throught the turbulence and uncertainty of the 21st century. While it would have been easy for Richard Hames to simply demolish the machine model that is at the limits of its usefulness, he has taken some care - with the help of more than a few diagrams [I'm very visual]- to suggest so many better ways for organizations operating in a seamless and boundaryless world to think and act.

There is too much in this book to be absorbed in one sitting. Rather it is one of those very thoughtful books that stays on the desk to be referenced time and time again. The Five Literacies is corporate philosophy at its best by one of the best.
