This book is very persuasive and if you want to move away from dairy food and meat you will find the reasons here. The recipes will introduce you to delicious new foods. The book is also aimed at parents trying to cook for children. The book is full of facinating information about nutrition. My only criticism is that the book encourages the use of "good" additives such as nutritional yeast flakes (very tasty). Whether this current view on what food is good for us is correct or not will only be revealed in time. I am cautious because I remember reading a book in a similar vein 24 years ago which recommended daily consumption of fried pigs liver for breakfast!

I bought this book assuming, wrongly as it appears, that it would follow the original non combining and include recipes with meat, fish etc. Rather it is a treatise on converting people to vegetarianism and includes recipes with ingredients that may be available in America but they certainly are not available in the UK or in South Africa (where I live). What a load of rubbish - a book only fit for the bin.

Somewhat disappointed! 7 April 2013
By Janet Carpenter - Published on Amazon.com

I purchased this book with the frame of mind that I could change some of the recipes to fit a vegan lifestyle. Unfortunately, the Marilyn Diamond I remember in "Fit For Life" with Harvey was not present in these pages. It made me feel as if she was kind of living off the popularity of the first book with her ex, rather than creating new and interesting dishes that could be altered to fit a vegan lifestyle.

I must say, however, the book did arrive in excellent condition, as promised! Thank you.
