Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The First Templar is a co-operative action adventure game for Xbox360. The game portrays a dark and gritty view of the late 13th century where old friends become enemies, corruption spreads throughout the Church and fallen knights oppress the weak and renounce their oaths.

The First Templar follows the story of two main characters – a French Templar, and his companion, a noble lady who has been proclaimed a heretic. Taking control over these two unlikely allies, the player must uncover the mysteries behind the Templar Order, play a role in a grand conspiracy, and discover the secret of the Holy Grail. The heroes face powerful opponents at every turn, in the face of the Saracen, King Philip IV of France and the Inquisition.

The First Templar features both single player and co-op modes. When playing solo, the player can switch between the two characters, leaving the control of the second hero to the game’s AI. At any moment a second player can join in and take control of the AI controlled hero.

Fun:
I got this game mainly for the co-op story mode that i think has been lacking from a great number of RPGs. As a game itself, how much you will enjoy it depends on what you're looking for. In relation to Graphics - no it isn't the best game out there. In relation to story line, it has some story but it wasn't riveting. If you're looking for awesome costumes, i have to say i wasn't that impressed.
That being said, the game-play was it redeeming feature. The way you could turn a block to a counterattack, and how the combat system itself worked, was what kept me playing. The fluidity between movements and the cut-scene-like killer moves really redeemed the game-play, and with the tracking aspect of it, and the secondary objectives it was good.
This is the kind of game i can imagine you sitting down and playing with a friend you haven't seen for a while, so you can chat, catch up, and kill some Hashashin who dance around you.
It's worth it for the game-play.

Fun:
Ok first things first, Personally i have been reading alot of reviews about this game over the last few days and alot of them are people disliking this game however i couldnt disagree more. I think this game is a fun good action adventure and although yes its got its little negatives for example the dialouge sceens i think its great and definitely worth a buy what people are forgetting is that 'Kalypso' arent a very recongized game producer unlike 'Activision' or 'Lionhead Studios' and they havent had much experience yet in making Xbox 360 games so why dont people give them a chance? You never know there next xbox 360 game could be something that blows everyone away and i may get negative rep on this review but at the end of the day if someone likes a game and another one dosent that dosent make it a good or bad game every gamer is different and everyone likes different games.
Thanks for Reading. :)

This is not an open-world RPG and is in fact very linear. A bit like Dante's Inferno. The graphics aren't the best I've seen but they're not the worst either. It can be a bit simple and reminds me a bit of Narnia in its gameplay. I suggest you pick the hard difficulty right from the off and also wait for it to come down in price.
All in all I liked it for what it is. A game. If you like 3D hack & slash platformers then you'll love this. If you don't, leave it alone.
