Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The First Templar is a co-operative action adventure game for Xbox360. The game portrays a dark and gritty view of the late 13th century where old friends become enemies, corruption spreads throughout the Church and fallen knights oppress the weak and renounce their oaths.

The First Templar follows the story of two main characters – a French Templar, and his companion, a noble lady who has been proclaimed a heretic. Taking control over these two unlikely allies, the player must uncover the mysteries behind the Templar Order, play a role in a grand conspiracy, and discover the secret of the Holy Grail. The heroes face powerful opponents at every turn, in the face of the Saracen, King Philip IV of France and the Inquisition.

The First Templar features both single player and co-op modes. When playing solo, the player can switch between the two characters, leaving the control of the second hero to the game’s AI. At any moment a second player can join in and take control of the AI controlled hero.

Product Description

The King of France, the Inquisition and the Templars are fighting for the Holy Grail. The First Templar staged a warrior and a lady who must unravel the mystery of the Order of the Templars and go in search of the Holy Grail. A player, multiple forms of combat. Take control of any of the two protagonists in combat or fight cooperatively with a friend. Learn new combos and spectacular combat as your character progresses in the adventure. In The First Templar, action is king.

5.0 out of 5 stars The First Templar Review 8 Jun 2011
By J. Lack
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Ok first things first, Personally i have been reading alot of reviews about this game over the last few days and alot of them are people disliking this game however i couldnt disagree more. I think this game is a fun good action adventure and although yes its got its little negatives for example the dialouge sceens i think its great and definitely worth a buy what people are forgetting is that 'Kalypso' arent a very recongized game producer unlike 'Activision' or 'Lionhead Studios' and they havent had much experience yet in making Xbox 360 games so why dont people give them a chance? You never know there next xbox 360 game could be something that blows everyone away and i may get negative rep on this review but at the end of the day if someone likes a game and another one dosent that dosent make it a good or bad game every gamer is different and everyone likes different games.
Thanks for Reading. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars A real "can't put it down game" 5 Oct 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Great all round game ;-)

Pros:
* great characters (3 available; 2 as co-op per level)
* great storyline & graphics; loads of individual, different levels (cities, swamps, burning forests, desert etc)
* plenty of action (& baddies stay dead once defeated)
* boobie traps, problem & puzzle solving
* treasure hunting, field tracking, & bonus chests
* skills, costumes & weapons upgrades to earn
* Individually listed levels autosave with regular checkpoints (so can return & get upgrades / missing chests if missed 1st time round, or reload checkpoint)
* timed / 'protect innocents' etc. quests are achievable yet exciting
* historic information from Templar Knights on tablet stones to find
* brilliant value for money!
* LOVE IT - WANT MORE JUST LIKE IT!

Cons:
* addictive! ;)
* sometimes if you leave an area during an objective, you miss your bonus availability so need to replay from checkpoint or whole level

4.0 out of 5 stars The First Templar 17 April 2012

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Overall an engaging 3rd person hack and slash action adventure with puzzles (generally lever-pulling and standing on pressure plates).

CONS: When I first played this game I thought more care could have been put into the camera control; it's not that there are awkward camera angles (the player has full control) rather it just seemed a little bit too swift moving and with no option to slow it. The only other gripe I have is that it is not always clear where you can go. For example, a piece of grass may block your progress but on the "Marauder Camp" level I could walk straight through the trunk of a huge tree!

PROS: Very good story with intersesting characters and an unexpected twist. Decent enough graphics (except for the cutscenes - some of the characters look so daft it's funny; watch out for dyed black moustache guy), good music though. Brutal combat (IMO better than Assassins Creed. Lots of collectibles.

It took me about twenty hours to complete and for under a tenner I'm glad I bought it.

Not bad, you can tell it was perhaps done on a budget. I remember when it first came out it did not have the usual £40 - £50 price tag on it. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game, worth a try at this price!
For fans of hack and slash games, and of course a little history, this is well worth a try for this price.
