Product Description

CD Description

The heavily fancied, hard rocking beast that was Wild Horses stumbled blinking into the daylight in London in 1978, the protagonists being ex-Rainbow, Street Noise and Harlot bassist and international Glaswegian Jimmy Bain and ex-Thin Lizzy guitarist and fellow tartan terror Brian Robertson. Mainly due to the glorious past endeavours of both Robertson and Bain, the band s debut album was eagerly anticipated by the rock community. Produced by South African wonder kid Trevor Rabin (later to achieve virtual superstardom as a member of rejuvenated prog gods Yes), The First Album was released through EMI records in early 1980 to generally positive reviews. If extremely melodic hard rock was and is your thing. This remastered disc containing bonus live tracks recorded for the BBC is a must have

After Thin Lizzy Brian Robertson formed Wild Horses, and produced these two albums, 'The First Album', and 'Stand Your Ground'. 80's stadium rock extravaganza, some beautiful songs that you will want to play over and over... Lizzy fans should buy these albums just to hear the continuing saga of said guitar hero, the Glaswegian who's sense of space in his blues rock style will have you on the edge of your seat if you are not already up there with the air guitar, or the real thing if you have the talent. Will inspire guitarists to be a 'Wild One' and go off on one! mad improvisation, agressive inflection, sense of space... you get the idea...

Long Lost Axe Hero 5 Jan 2012
Format:Audio CD
As a huge Thin Lizzy fan and someone who recently purchased diamonds and dirt and Another Perfect Day I have always wanted to find as much of Brian Robertsons recorded work as I could as possibly through poor career choices or bad attitude leading to bad reputation I feel Robbo has not had the level of success his talent deserves. This album contains some tracks which rank up there with his finest Thin Lizzy moments noteably Blackmail,Flyaway and Dealer. If you like melodic guitar driven rock and are looking for an axe hero who has slipped under the radar this is for you.

Robbo was under-rated 29 May 2011
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a jolly little romp of an album. The harmonising guitars are there and some of Robbo's guitar play is reminiscent of his epic guitaring on 'Live and dangerous' with Lizzy.

Robbo was always my personal guitar-God for his cocky and ballsy swagger and his innate feel for bluesy hard-rock guitar.

Personal favourites : 'Reservation','Dealer', 'Criminal tendencies' and 'Face down'.

Highly recommended and I'm proud to share his nickname.

Ian Roblin,
Wales
