5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing workout in only 30 minutes 7 April 2008
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I've read quite a few reviews of this DVD on a number of different sites and so far every reviewer has given this DVD top marks. After doing this DVD I decided to write a review giving top marks too.

Tight Buns and Killer Legs is a 30 minute lower body workout presented by Kelsie Daniels and is the first DVD I've done in a long time which has made me consider going with the beginner's modifications. This is hard but in a really good way. After a five minute warm up Kelsie moves into the workout which really works your lower body. Beginners are advised to follow Sue Mi who does not use weights, everyone else should have some medium and heavy weights to use. Kelsie moves throught a series of weighted sections which she breaks up with short bursts of cardio. In the weighted sections you'll be doing moves such as the curtsey dip (an absolute killer), knee lifts, squats and glute lifts. The moves are first done in a basic way and then variations and extra moves are brought in. Cardio includes jumping jacks, a hopscotch move and high knee lifts.

Kelsie goes through the moves quickly and I couldn't believe how fast the 30 minutes passed by. My legs were shaking at the end of the workout and for the rest of the day I could feel that my legs and behind had had a good workout. This DVD really works you hard and you'll definitely be sweating at the end of it. I noticed a difference in my legs after just a few workouts with this and it's definitely a great addition to my other exercise DVDs. Some of the moves may seem tricky the first time you do the DVD and you may have to watch the segment then rewind and have a go but persevere with it and you're bound to see results.

Well, I think the title of my review says it all. I am not new to home exercise dvds but I'm new to The Firm series and have just stocked up on a few. This was this first to arrive - I got it 4 days ago and have done it twice now. Before attempting the dvd I watched it through and although I am not unfit, I looked at it and thought to myself, how the hell am I going to do this DVD, as to me it looked really challenging. Anyway, I gave it a go and the first time I did it without weights as advised, just to get used to the moves and then today I had a second go with weights. Despite my initial view of it looking overly challenging I found that once you get going it is not half as bad as it looks and you really do feel your legs and buns burning up but not so much that you can't do it.

Kelsie is the lead instructor and she has Rebekah and Sue-Mi accompanying her. Sue-Mi shows the beginners modifications without weights so I would say you would be able to have a decent crack at this dvd whether you are a beginner or more advanced. It is only 30 mins long but don't think that you won't get a decent workout because believe me you really will. So it is perfect if you are short of time or like to mix things up and combine with other dvds. To give you an idea of how good it is, I burned about 350 calories in 30 mins with this dvd which is excellent.

It starts with a nice warm up which I though was a good intro and quite enjoyable to be honest. Then you need medium and heavy weights for the rest of the dvd which alternates between short but very effective toning sections using either a medium or heavy set of weights and it alternates between toning sections and cardio blast sections in between. I thought this was excellent and made the dvd go very quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 30 minute workout 20 May 2008
By Callisy
This is my second dvd by the Firm and as usual I wasn't disappointed. It is just 30 minutes, but it was hard work. The thing I was surprised about and will take me time to master, is the amount of core stability you need in this workout. I was expecting the usual lunges and squats but again, the girls at the firm manage to bring out something not seen before. I found the balance aspect of a few of the exercises almost impossible, but I am going to have to practise and master them.

I bought this DVD together with The Firm: 500 Calories Workout which I think is excellent. I was a little disappointed with this DVD however. The workout contains very similar steps to the one in The Firm: 500 Calories excluding the cardio section. I was hoping for more of a variety and to use this DVD for toning exercises, and the other for cardio. Therefore I have returned this DVD and bought the 10 Minute Solutions: Belly, Butt and Thigh Blasters instead.
It is probably my fault for picking two The Firm DVDs with the same instructor. Generally I think it would work well for anyone looking to tone their lower body. It is easy to follow and includes quite a few lunges.

5.0 out of 5 stars Firming and fun 1 Jan 2009
I'm a fan of The Firm workouts and really enjoy this one - altho I confess it doesn't leave me feeling like Bambi (wobbly legs) the way Total Body Toner did the first times I did that. I guess I should increase my weights!

Buns & Legs is in short sections of about five minutes, where you work the right, then do a wee intense cardio burst, then work the left and repeat the cardio burst. So I feel like I've done a 'proper' workout even though it's primarily for the buns and legs.
