Book Description

1 Sep 2013
One must first imagine a car, stated Enzo Ferrari. Nobody creates pictures worthy of the Commendatore's imagination quite like Gunther Raupp. Not just a random flood of images, this internationally renowned automotive photographer's artworks capture the seductive essence of these status symbols from Maranello-maintaining the legendary Ferrari luster. Since 1984, Raupp has been the exclusive photographer for its official calendars-now collectible cult objects. Recently, a major exhibition in the World Cultural Heritage Site of the Volklingen Ironworks was dedicated to his photographs, their almost surreal effects and striking use of backlighting. In 2008 teNeues published Raupp's successful Ferrari. 25 Years of Calendar Images. With The Ferrari Book Gunther Raupp adds an exciting, exclusive collector's item to our line of high quality car books.

Product Description

This book attempts the rather difficult task of relaying the brand's history through pictures. And, at least in my opinion, succeeds. The magical lens of Gunter Raupp has been doing this since 1985.Every single one of Raupp's pictures is like a full lecture. The effects, the colors, the backdrop, even the angles, are chosen to reflect the colossal significance of that particular model the image is showing off. The sheer beauty of some of these shots is indescribable. The best thing about the consistency of the album is that you see and appreciate the evolution of Ferrari design over the years.Amari Barari, Motorward.com, October 1, 2013

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful pictures 6 Dec 2013
By AndersK
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
The pictures are very beautiful. Perhaps you could ask for more classic cars. I do miss cars like the 275GTB, 275NART Spyder and other great cars. Instead there are a few too many pictures of later cars that are not as interesting (IMHO). There is not a lot of information on the cars. Only model name (and VIN number!). Also, the book is very big. It did not fit in by book shelf. So it is a true coffetable book, then... Perhaps the cover could be of greater quality. In all a very nice picture book. But if you are looking for a book ABOUT the cars, look elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ferrari Book lives up to its name. 14 Nov 2013
By Henry G. Reid - Published on Amazon.com

When The Ferrari Book arrived, I was amazed at the size11 x 14 x1.5 Inches, but that was nothing compared to what the inside held. Gunther Raupp's Photographic collection follows Ferrari from the beginning to the latest Magnificent La Ferrari. Full page spreads in glorious color and layout highlights the best each car has to offer, like a coffee table book of Ferrari Sales portraits. Sports, Touring, GT, F1 Grand Prix, and Endurance Racers, are al included. If you could only have one Ferrari Book, this would be the first and only choice. As a registered Ferrari Product, it truly shows it's heritage, it never disappoints, only excites.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible photos 24 Jan 2014

I have recently become a Ferrari enthusiast. I was absolutely thrilled to get this book. It is exceptionally high quality. Hard cover, heavy quality paper and amazing photos. I was watching an episode of "Chasing Classic Cars" and was able to flip to the page where that actual car/chassis number was. Very cool. This would make a GREAT GIFT for any car collector.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!!! 21 Jan 2014

Wow this was a present for my husband who loves Ferrari and my goodness it was wonderful. First of all the book is a huge Coffee Table book as they say. It is loaded with pictures and takes you thru the whole history of the company all the models of cars, etc. We have been to the restaurant in Modena and the Museum in Italy so you know we are fans of the brand, right? Great book for any gear head who likes the beauty of Italian styling as my husband would say.... Deirdre- Irvine, CA
4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful book but not complete 23 Aug 2014

Bought this for my car collecting husband. It's a beautiful book. However, my husband was baffled and very disappointed that there was no information about the F355 model. Would love to know why the writer didn't include this popular Ferrari model.
