This book is relatively short, but that's not really a bad thing (especially given the price), as it doesn't pad itself out with conjecture or hyperbole, but rather concentrates on the author's experiences of the diet, and, most importantly, a collection of recipes which will make following the diet so much easier.
The style of the book is bright and engaging, and gives the impression that these are ordinary people engaging in a diet which they enjoy and which works for them.
If you are interested in this diet, there is no better way of seeing what's involved and the results you can expect.

I'd heard about the tangible health benefits of fasting and in particular the 5:2 diet where you fast for 2 days and then feast for 5. However, I was sceptical that it could work on a long term basis because let's face it fasting 2 days a week is a big ask for most folks unless you're well disciplined or as they say, you have a plan. This wonderful little book shows you how to do it. It's full of sound practical tips and advice about how to structure your fast days with lots of tasty easy to prepare recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner that would see you through a whole month without having to repeat. This book could be one of the best life investments any of us make. Buy it now.The Feast and Fast Diet: Lose weight, gain health. Recipes and tips for the 5:2 diet.

There seem to be a lot of new books around about this diet, but this one is both a fraction of the price of most, and also is written by some real experts - people who have lived and breathed the diet and seen the results.

Written in an engaging, personal style, so you feel like you actually know Clive and Mags, the book is full of recipes and tips which make a diet-averse soul like myself feel that this one is do-able and indeed worth trying. The emphasis is on wider health rather than emergency, post-Christmas weight loss, and recipes like mushroom and potato stroganoff and sweet potato casserole sound tempting rather than an act of deprivation. So, for some inspiration along with a tried-and-tested approach, you could do a lot worse than spend your £2.05 on this one.

I am not massivley overweight but advancing middle age and determined to try to be healthier this year and get a better shape and food balance. Started the Feast and Fast programme tentatively in January.....and yes its tough...but seems to be making some difference. But i quickly realised I needed some decent tips and recipes that were simple...(im no great cook) and that I could even do in bulk and freeze and use. This book is as "jolly" inside as the couple look like on the outside, as another reviewer noticed. Just as you are grappling with the recipe you get little asides that make you chuckle at least. NOt something I find in most cook books....Great stuff!

The recipes were fantastic, the instructions were clear and easy to follow & at the end of the day I didn't feel hungry. The weight fell off & I would definitely recommend this book over other Similar books that are on the market at the moment.

I don't like diets, I don't like technology and I definitely don't do fasting! But, lots of my colleagues had been talking about this diet and the health benefits and I wanted to give it a go. The beauty of this book is that, firstly, it is easy to follow, from a technophobe's point of view. If I can jump between recipes, follow hyperlinks and navigate around the book, anyone can. Secondly, I love the fact that on the so called 'fasting' days you are actually eating and eating from truly yummy suggested recipes, for example, the fish stew, is to die for. More importantly, the recipes are easy, both easy to make but more significantly, I found I had many ingredients already in my house; my 12 year old rustled up the pea soup in under half an hour. Finally, I think, yes I really think, I am going to be able to stick to this, thanks to the simplicity of both the book and it's recipes. Yippee!

I already know that fasting works. This guide is really straight forward and helps explain how you might realistically incorporate fasting into your life and get the benefits without having to read and re-read boring books. For me this isn't about losing weight, the benefits are much more than that.

Mags and Clive's refreshing approach to a dieting book (if you want to call it that) is really easy to understand and follow, what more could you want. If you want a book that explains why fasting works, then this isn't it. But those types of books, in my experience, are the ones left on the shelf gathering dust after the initial enthusiasm of buying them. Finally, as a self confessed kitchen-o-phobe, the suggested menus and instructions on how to make are an added bonus.

What's not to like?
