Product Description

Swedish Death metal supergroup Bloodbath formed in 1998. Sharing a mutual fascination for the glory days of Death Metal, the band's line up has changed and evolved throughout the years, whilst always featuring the elite of the Swedish Metal scene. With Opeth's Mikael Aekerfeldt and Martin 'Axe' Axenrot, Katatonia's Anders Nystrom and Jonas Renkse, and Per 'Sodomizer' Eriksson , the band's current line-up represents its strongest to date. The Fathomless Mastery was originally released in 2008 and hailed as another masterpiece of brutal, blasphemous Metal, with a definite nod to the masters of the scene, such as Morbid Angel and Entombed flowing throughout the tracks. Bloodbath backed the release up with high profile festival performances, and featured prominently on end of year magazine polls for the album. Without doubt, The Fathomless Mastery cemented the band's reputation as one of the current leaders in the Death Metal scene.

Bloodbath are known for finding that perfect balance between groove, speed and tecnhicality - The Fathomless Mastery is all of these and much more. I personally was not a massive fan of Death Metal before purchasing this album but Bloodbath have changed me and I have seen the light.

I cannot recommend this enough. Buy it.

Good album. Need to listen to it more for it to grow on me though. The beginning is freaking amazing. Give it a try.

Just noticed this album is getting mediocre reviews from the likes of most online review pages. This is by far imo their best album. Resurrection through carnage was awesome too. Had a very Entombed like sound. Nightmares made flesh was more shard is regards to audio production. Has a very armegeddon type feel. Tatgrens vocals rule. But, fathomless mastery is bar far their most technically sound, melodic, album, with a very blesphemous theme to it like their EP and my second favorite album being Unblessing the purity. Very technical and melodic with the same lyrical content as fathomless. Love bloodbath with all my heart and soul <3

Pure evil 28 May 2012

This is album is my favorite thus far in Bloodbaths catalog, as nostalgic as "nightmares made flesh" is for me, I prefer Mikael on vocals. It seems he projects more enthusiasm with his powerful voice. It's pure, uncleansed evil. This album surely shows off what this band is made of. Bloodbath also seem to have a much more different way to breakdowns, they simple do not "chug....chug...chuuuug"; for example, "Hades rising", they simply play the riff, pause of silence, riff, pause of silence, and presume playing...but then go out with a outro with one of the most impressive solos I've ever heard in Death Metal.. this album will send chills from your sideburns to the top of your skull.

damn good release. 10/10
