This book sets out to challenge the stereotype of fat girls being lazy, greedy etc. etc. It uses the authors' own experience of being fat from an early age, although I have to say she seems to have had a lot of negative feedback compared to my own experience of yo-yoing up and down the scale. It tackles the usual issues such as finding/keeping a partner (I thought this was a bit over-emphasised), buying clothes and the preoccupation with eating well and exercising. Although the book is upbeat, and funny a lot of the time, I thought that it moved from championing the cause of fat girls to justification, almost, in places. Funny sometimes, thought-provoking occasionally, entertaining throughout - worth reading.
