About the Author
Emmy-award winning costume designer Janie Bryant creates all of the looks seen on BBC4’s Mad Men. She has worked on numerous films and TV shows. In 2005, she won an Emmy for her period costumes on HBO’s Deadwood, and this year, she took home the prestigious Outstanding Costume Design award from the Costume Designers Guild.

I'm a fan of the series so I wanted to have all there's related to it. The book was exactly what I was expecting: smart, glamorous and with terrific tips. I recommend it to all the girls who love fashion, the idea of fashion and who whish to have the insight and the necessary knowledge to dress glamorously even when they throw a white t-shirt with jeans and a pair of sneakears - it's not what you wear and if you follow by the rules, but knowing the rules and ignoring them voluntarily.

I LOVED this book! Not only did it give lots of helpful tips, the book also gives some history on fashion and fashion icons. This is not a book about looking like a cast member of mad men but about incorporating classic styles into modern fashion. I really liked the illustrations rather than all photos and thought they added a lot to the book. I've had two other people borrowing this book from me after looking at it and asking to take it home. I adore this book and will be going back to it for years to come

A fantastic book full of fascinating facts about the Mad Men costumes but also useful tips for the reader to try out. For example, after years of trying I have finally discovered my colours. For a week I have been trying them out and they definately do work! Hurrah!
The book does have photographs and beautiful fashion sketches. I felt the mix was perfect.

Excellent choice!
