5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant 27 Feb 2010
Format:MP3 Download|Amazon Verified Purchase
Why would a 55 year old man be interested in the music of Lady Gaga.
Simple really, I like good music and The Fame Monster is one of the best albums I've heard in a long time. There is not a bad track on the album and Gagas range of musical talents is displayed to the full and believe me, she IS talented.
If this had been available 30 years ago during the vinyl era, mine would have been worn out by now.
An absolutely brilliant CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pop as it should be. 6 Feb 2010
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
It's easy to see why Lady Gaga has become the pop phenomenon she has in 2009. This album is packed with great pop songs - songs you find yourself singing along with when they're on the radio or playing on your iPod. If you're after something really deep and meaningful and off the wall then this probably isn't for you. If you like songs with a tune, then it definitely is. 24 catchy songs with no duds and no filler. It is a great album.

5.0 out of 5 stars LGG's got a new 50-something fan!! 26 Jan 2010
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Having seen - but not heard - Lady Gaga, I had assumed she was all style & no substance. Then I came across Speechless, which left me exactly that... I googled it and was amazed it was by LGG, & even more moved when I read the story behind the lyrics. Some say Speechless is not typically LGG. I would say that her style is so eclectic as to make that statement irrelevant. To me, the common denominators across all the tracks are stunning lyrics and an amazing voice - and by those criteria, Speechless is absolutely typical. Love this album - a quirky, stylish, intelligent mix of upbeat toe-tappers and cries from the heart. Making it my mission to spread the word among fellow oldies!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excitement Monster 11 Nov 2010
Format:Audio CD
First off, I have to admit that currently my husband loves many of the songs on Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster cd. He enjoys more of her songs on the cd than I do. Please understand that I do like some of the songs on her cd, but I am truthfully more of a Madonna fan. However, because I love my husband very much, I am inclined to keep an open mind to music and artists that he likes. The reason why I find this quite ironic that he is now a fan is due to what happened when she first came out. For a brief time I had her song "Just Dance" as my cell phone ringtone, and I enjoyed the video and music to her "Bad Romance" song. Whenever, I would watch this video it was hard for him to fathom why I enjoyed listening to the song, let alone the rest of her music. However, once I purchased the cd, this changed. He and I share music with each other, and he started to enjoy many of her songs once he listened to them on his ipod. I had burned this cd to my ipod, and then he downloaded it to his mp3 player. Obviously, he now enjoys many of her songs with one of his top favorites being "Money Honey". As for me it is a tie between the song "Monster" and "Teeth". I remember feeling compelled to buy this cd after I heard someone else listening to the "Teeth" song. I have watched some of her musical videos and songs to see some of her creativity showcased (such as in "Telephone"). When I lived in Orlando, Florida, many of Lady Gaga's songs were played on the radio frequently. Now that I live in the D.C. area, I still hear her songs, but I wish that they would play them more often. This is especially because her concerts sell out quickly. I tried to get tickets to her concert in both Orlando and then in this area and both times, they were already sold out. This cd may take a while to grow on some.... Read more ›

5.0 out of 5 stars In Love With The Fame Monster 18 Nov 2009
Format:Audio CD
This album has definitely lived up to my expectations! Found Lady GaGa around the time Poker Face was released, so have been following her career for 7-8 months, and I have to say while The Fame is a fantastic album, The Fame Monster for me gives the listener the FULL experience of Lady GaGa.

Disc 1 - 8 new tracks, including her recently released Bad Romance, and following singles Alejandro and Dance In The Dark.

Disc 2 - The Fame album.

Lady GaGa has been in the public's consciousness for what seems a lifetime, in actual fact it's been around a year! Long blonde wigs, unique sound, VERY unique style, outrageous costumes on stage - that's what Disc 2 stands for, whereas for me Disc 1 shows you the inner workings behind GaGa; all her fears, her inner "Monsters" that she's encountered on her rise to fame.

Below is a synopsis of each song, for me I'd love to see this album do well, but like her video for Bad Romance, some people see her as "too out there" and "wacky for no real reason," this album for me is an instant hit, but the listener does need to go into it with an open mind...

Bad Romance - where do I start with this one? Very contagious, when I first downloaded it I had it on loop, have had it on my computer for two weeks now and in total have played it on iTunes over 200 times [probably a lot more on my iPod but...] the video is just fantastic, the dance routines, the costumes, the idea behind it; fantastic! The song itself, I think it kicks off the idea of the fame MONSTER very well, in a way it's like Paparazzi with the whole obsession idea "I want your psycho/your vertigo stick... I want your horror/I want your design/cuz you're a criminal as long as you're mine" even the idea of a BAD romance...
