Product Description

The Fall of Five is the fourth novel in the New York Times bestselling I Am Number Four series by Pittacus Lore. The Garde are finally reunited, but do they have what it takes to win the war against the Mogadorians?

John Smith—Number Four—thought that things would change once the Garde found one another. But he was wrong. After facing off with the Mogadorian ruler and almost being annihilated, the Garde know they are drastically unprepared. Now they're hiding out in Nine's Chicago penthouse, trying to figure out their next move.

The six of them are powerful, but they're not strong enough yet to take on an entire army—even with the return of an old ally. To defeat their enemy, the Garde must master their Legacies and learn to work together as a team. More important, they'll have to discover the truth about the Elders and their plan for the Loric survivors.

And when the Garde receive a sign from Number Five—a crop circle in the shape of a Lorien symbol—they know they are close to being reunited. But could it be a trap? Time is running out, and the only thing they know for certain is that they have to get to Five before it's too late.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Fall of Five 1 Nov. 2013
By Indii
Format:Hardcover
I am such a huge fan of the I Am Number Four series, and I was super excited to get the most recent book, The Fall of Five.
It is the fourth in the series (not including the novellas) and it is just as fast paced and awesome as the other books in the series.
The book was going so well, at first, but then you get to the end. I was so mad at the ending, but I'm not going to spoil it.
All in all it was fab, and I'm definitely going to get the next book. The only part that I thought was bad was the ending. It was very dramatic but just so sad.
If you are a fan of the series, definitely get this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars and it was all going so well 19 Sept. 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is a really enjoyable book. The pages seem to fly by. I know it was a good book because as soon as I finished it I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

Since the last book all is going well for the Grades. They are hiding out in 9's huge luxury Penthouse, complete with its own Danger room (Lecture hall) used for training. They have met up and even managed to re-join with Sam. John has started to accept the leadership role expected of him. Nine is his General, specialising in battle strategy and training. 6 is a warrior. Marina is the team medic. 8 is part jester part team conscience. Sam and Sarah are learning to be better soldiers. I must say Sam continues to impress me as the series progress. Even Elle discovers part of her origin. With everything going right for them you know something has to go wrong.

We learn a little more about the Mogs and Lorien as well. Especially from the extracts of the back lost files. The Lorien's seem to be more technologically advanced versions of humans, yet for all their advancements there society works the same as ours. We meet Adam for the first time and learn a little more about him again in the extracts at the end of the book.

There is a lot more swearing and cursing in this book, which could be a by-product of being around 9 all the time in his penthouse, or they have realised they are solders and the harsher language is in keeping with harsher times. One thing I did not like about the book was in the other books they always talked about how strong the Grades were, the super strength seems to be forgotten in this book. All in all a good enjoyable book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fall of Five - EPIC! 3 Oct. 2014
Format:Hardcover
The fourth book in the Lorien Legacies is my new favourite. Soooo much awesomeness I don’t even know where to start.

I think my favourite thing was the twists. There’s a shocker right at the beginning of the book and a HUGE twist at the end which I did actually see coming about a page before it happened but that certainly did not take away from the shock of what happened.

Its difficult to say too much about The Fall of Five without giving away huge spoilers for previous books but as you can probably tell from the title of this one, it involves finding the last member of the garde (number five) before the Mogadorians do and making five a part of the team in their mission to locate the Mogadorian’s leader Satrakus Ra and ultimately return to Lorien to salvage their planet.

I felt like I was on the edge of my seat for 80% of the book. There is so much action and suspense and not knowing what’s going to happen next. But also lots of character development and interaction between the different members of the garde. As there are so many of them living together now they decide to practice their legacies and fighting skills with each other and these made for some really great ‘bonding’ sections. The way they worked as a team whilst also combining their powers was a great thing to see coming together and really made me like certain members even more (especially nine and seven).

The ending was just so good and also frustrating at the same time. It was nail bitingly tense and action packed with the garde being split up fighting two different battles at the same time in two different locations and I just don’t know how they are going to go forward after what happened but I do know that I need to find out ASAP so I will be ordering the next book in this series right away!

Well..... I need a minute to recover from that. Started reading I am Number Four and haven't stopped since. Managed to finish it in a day because at the end of each chapter, there was something stopping me from putting it down. Not going to spoil it but if you are a fan of the series then be prepared xxxxx

3.0 out of 5 stars Not living up to its promise 18 Dec. 2014
By Mrs. K. A. Wheatley TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I wanted to love this book, but am beginning to find this series rather repetitive. It's very formulaic, and although it was novel for the first two books I am finding it rather wearisome now. It's as though there is a tick sheet and the author has to cram in fifteen fight scenes, two kisses, twenty eight bits of gratuitous violence etc. Somewhere in there is a great story, but I think that by now there should be a bit of slowing down and the story should build with more tension and force. It has the potential to be truly great, but is coming across as a bit mediocre here.
