Product Description

Product Description

An essential tool for anyone involved in curtain making and design. Accurate and easy to use for fabric, fringe and trim quantities. Includes quantity tables for curtains, valances, pelmets, swags and tails, blinds, bed valances, covers, finishing touches, tablecloths and loose covers.

From the Author

This book is designed to make the task of estimating fabric quantities for curtains, accessories and trims easier and more accurate. The tables have been formulated as the result of our experience making bespoke soft furnishings. However, when estimating for specific designs, the quantities given may need to be adapted and so should only be used as a guide.

I thought that this book was absolutely brilliant as it took away all the worries about having to calculate fabric requirements, tape requirements and everything else! Just a brilliant book to have in your collection.

Bought this book as a novice hoping to learn from it but was surprised to find it quite difficult to understand. If you have some experience in sewing and measuring, then i guess this handbook is for you but for me it wasn't helpful as it was difficult to understand. You may need to buy the authors other books to understand it because she made references to her other books.

How many inches is that? 24 May 2006

Maybe I missed it, but nowhere in the description did I read that this ENTIRE book is in METERS!! V. helpful for design prof's outside of the US, but every chart has to be converted for those of us stuck in the English system of measure. It would be HEAVEN if the book had been published w/both yards and meters. Oh well, writing conversions in the margin is a good "slow day" project.
