This is inexpensive and covers lots of different operas but very superficially. As a KIndle ebook, it has its uses for me but I don't think I would have bought the print version.

I'm still looking for the "right" opera guide book for me, small enough to carry around (like this one) but with cast lists, act-by-act, scene-by-scene synopses and some musical analysis.
