Product Description

From the Publisher

A guide for dad-to-be
Betty P., as thousands of mums and dads who have attended her ante-natal classes affectionately know her, is a legend. Her outstanding authority stems from over 30 years showing mothers-to-be and their partners how to share the magic of childbirth through understanding.

Whether or not you plan to be beside your partner at the birth, as prospective father you are the best placed person on earth to give her the growing comfort and confidence she is going to need. This deliberately dad-centred book prepares you to maximise that support.

As Betty masterminds your joint progress, any private worries, and the daily crop of questions which besieges every couple, will be resolved. Betty P. will instill the conviction - so precious when the birth day arrives - that, come what may, you will both cope admirably.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could have been so much better 16 Dec 2001

Full of stuff about the whole conception and birth process but not enough about emotional support required, which I expected to be in this book. Quite repetitive in places which makes the chapters very undifined. A lot of information is simply skimmed over such as the physicological effects of pregancy on both the mother and the father. A very basic book which could have been so much better.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for new (or next time around) fathers 3 May 2001
By A Customer
Great book for first time Dad's and also as a refresher when the next one comes along!. I was given this book by a friend when my first child was due. Over the 2 years between my 1st and 2nd the book was passed around to 10 couples (I was an expat in Malaysia at the time)most of whom bought it 'just in case'. Its not a big read but it covers most areas without getting to technical or boring. I am just about to buy it for a friend of mine as my copy is with an ex-collegue somewhere in Bristol!
