This keeps the intrigue and interest alive in what has happened in all the characters' lives. Although the initial fire that there was between Anne and Edward has died down - because of the titular exile - you have more sense of the love between them. You really want this to work out, but at the back of your mind you know it is nigh on impossible. But this is all good for developing Anne's personality - she is no longer the innocent little girl who doesn't know what to do with herself.

The queen Elizabeth is given more definition as a character and this is significant. Also there are new characters to get used to - I particularly love the baby Edward who can't speak yet but is so charming anyway.

I enjoyed 'The Exiled' and it is good to know there is a third (and final) part of the story to come in 'The Beloved.'

The Exiled follows on from The Innocent by Posie Graeme-Evans. Just like the first book I could not put it down and read it in two days! Posie brings the characters to life, and the forbidden love story between Anne and King Edward gives me goosebumps. Posie has a great writing style, and the history details are fantastic. If you like Phillipa Gregory you will love Posie's books, if not more!

The bad thing about this book.. is you dont want to finish it, but you cant help yourself - a sign of a good book!

Annes story continues with her trials in Brugge after being exiled (by choice) from England by the King. Plots are made against her by namely jealous merchants, although the Queen might be involved. The whisper of Witch can also be heard.

I found the story enchanting. Historically Edward was said to be happily wed to Elizabeth; yet this story tells it differently - i do not know if there is any truth in this?

Even if there is not, the story will enchant you, with hope of such a love
